Board Positions Now Open – Applications for Nominations Accepted through October 1, 2019.
Currently, WSSWA is seeking members who want to grow their leadership skills through participation on the board. Board members meet 5 times per year and do not need experience in any particular area to be qualified to serve. You may want to consider board membership as a way to learn and practice leadership skills, which will benefit your professional growth and career. You can help shape the direction of school social work in Wisconsin.
Must be or become a regular, retired, or student member of the Wisconsin School Social Workers Association
Must follow through on commitments and work in the best interest of the association
Must be willing to learn new skills, and commit to serving the best interests of youth, families, schools, and practitioners in Wisconsin
Must be willing to serve on at least one board committee
Must participate in at least 75% of all board meetings
Must commit to the purpose and function of WSSWA: to promote the total growth and development of all school-aged children and their families through the application of social work knowledge and skills
Board meetings are held 5 times per year: January, April, July, October, and November, typically on a Saturday morning from 9-12.
Board members may attend meetings in person or via tele- or video-conference
Board member terms of service are 2 years.
